Job Title: Registered General Nurse (RGN) - Nights
Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Night Shifts - 37.5 Hours per week - Weekends on a rota basis (Shift Times 07.45pm-08.15am 3 x 12.5 hour shifts )
Salary: £19.50 Per Hour

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis for night shifts. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to residents during night shifts, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to relevant protocols.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, promptly addressing any changes in condition and escalating concerns as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, therapists, and support staff, to deliver holistic care.
- Provide support and guidance to junior nursing staff and healthcare assistants, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Ensure adherence to infection control policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification, with a valid NMC PIN.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a care home or similar setting.
- Strong clinical skills, with a good understanding of relevant nursing practices and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time and tasks effectively.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach, with a commitment to providing person-centered care.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with elderly care and/or dementia care.
- Additional qualifications or training in specialized areas such as palliative care or wound management.
