Job summary

Apex Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join a hospice and community nursing team in Colchester, Essex. Flexible bank, part-time options available, with pay £22–£27 per hour. The role focuses on palliative and end-of-life care in community settings and hospital wards.

Applicants should hold a valid NMC PIN, have community nursing experience, be drivers, and be prepared for ongoing training and DBS clearance. Mileage allowance provided.

Qualifications

• Valid NMC PIN - RGN qualification essential.
• Experience in community nursing.
• Experience in palliative care / hospice / district nursing desirable.
• Must be a driver.
• Strong clinical skills including symptom management and holistic care planning.
• DBS and mandatory training up-to-date or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards of nursing care to patients in their homes and in the hospice.
• Support patients and families with emotional, physical and practical needs.
• Work closely with GPs, district nurses and other community professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical records.

We are currently recruiting experienced and compassionate Registered General Nurses to join a highly regarded hospice in Colchester providing high-quality palliative and end-of-life care within the community and on the hospital ward.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about community care and wants flexible hours with excellent pay.

Requirements:

• Valid NMC PIN - RGN qualification essential
• Previous experience working as a nurse in the community
• Experience in palliative care / hospice / district nursing is highly desirable
• Must be a driver
• Excellent clinical skills, including symptom management, medication administration and holistic care planning
• Compassionate, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Up-to-date mandatory training and DBS (or willing to obtain)

Key Duties:
