Job summary

Sofant Technologies Ltd. in Edinburgh is seeking a System Engineer to lead the top-level specification of our phased arrays. The role involves system simulation, algorithm development and writing specifications.

Responsibilities include creating detailed system requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance, defining RF board layout strategies and leading integration and debugging at board level. You will collaborate across hardware and software teams to validate algorithms and develop

Qualifications

Bachelor/Master of Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Knowledge and experience of RF and System Modelling.
Knowledge and experience creating algorithms to control complex systems.
Knowledge and experience of System integration, prototyping, measurement and transfer to production.
Demonstrated ability of working independently with minimal supervision.
High energy and ability to work with both commercial and technical teams.
Analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
Knowledge and experience with PCB layout for complex systems.
Knowledge and experience with link budget calculations.
Knowledge and experience with Keysight SystemVue.
PhD or Masters in RF Systems or Communications Theory.

Responsibilities

Create detailed system requirements based on customer requirements.
Ensure requirements meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
Define RF system board layout floorplan and layout strategies.
Lead RF system integration and debug activity at board level.
Develop algorithms for control of RF blocks.
Collaborate with Digital hardware and software teams to integrate and validate algorithms.
Develop test and calibration strategies for sub-assemblies of complete array.
