Summary:

Would you like to join Apple’s growing wireless silicon development team? Our wireless SOC organization is responsible for all aspects of wireless silicon development, with a focus on energy-efficient design and innovative technologies that enhance user experience. The team includes experts in RF/Analog architecture and design, Systems/PHY/MAC architecture, VLSI/RTL design, Emulation, Design Verification, Test and Validation, and FW/SW engineering.

In this role, you will be part of the RF system engineering team responsible for specifying, developing, and validating state-of-the-art wireless silicon for Apple’s products.

Key Qualifications:

• BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience; MSEE or PhD preferred.
• Industry experience in RF system specifications, development, and validation.
• Knowledge of RF transceiver architectures, line-up analysis, and performance budgeting and simulation.
• Understanding of RFIC architecture, design concepts, and techniques.
• Deep knowledge of RF performance metrics (e.g., NF, IP2, IP3, dynamic range, EVM, ACLR).
• Familiarity with wireless/cellular standards such as IEEE 802.11, 802.15, Bluetooth, or 3GPP.
• Experience with RFIC system validation methods and test equipment.
• Understanding of communication theory and signal processing algorithms.
• Knowledge of digital architecture principles.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, SimuLink, SystemVue, or ADS; Python skills are a plus.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including RFIC Design, RF Silicon Validation, PHY, System, and System Validation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Description:

• Develop RF specifications for silicon and module-level designs, collaborating with Platform Architecture, Product Systems, PHY Algorithm Systems, and RFIC Design teams.
• Create innovative RF architectures to optimize performance, power, and area.
• Introduce RF system features with digitally enhanced innovations.
• Produce RF line-up specifications in collaboration with the RFIC design team to guide new radio developments.
• Develop and maintain simulation and verification infrastructure to ensure first-time success.
• Validate silicon and revise designs to meet RF system specifications and system performance goals.
• Support delivery of new wireless technologies to Product Systems teams.
