Job summary

Teledyne e2v, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, is seeking a Test & Applications Engineer in Chelmsford, UK. The role focuses on testing, evaluating, and supporting high-power RF products within a multi-disciplinary team.

You will develop test plans, perform RF measurements, analyze results, and provide customers with robust application support. Travel to customer sites may be required up to 10% annually.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical / Electronic engineering or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of RF testing, measurements, and applications support.
• Proficiency with RF test equipment (spectrum analysers, network analysers, signal generators) and interpreting results.
• Excellent communication skills for technical discussions and customer support.
• Proactive approach with a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans for RF power products.
• Perform detailed RF performance evaluations, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
• Provide technical application support to customers, addressing performance queries and integration challenges.
• Work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimise product performance.
• Assist in development of test procedures and automated testing systems.
• Generate detailed technical documentation, test reports, and application notes.
• Support product development cycles from prototype to production.
• Travel within the UK and overseas in a customer-facing role (5–10% per year).
