Zusammenfassung

Filtronic is seeking a practical RF Engineering Technician to join our Cambridge team at the Cambridge Science Park. You will work across RF, electronics and mechanical development, turning designs into working prototypes and reliable test setups for space, defence and telecom projects.

You will set up measurements, use lab equipment, run Python scripts for tests, and help with assembly, calibration and documentation throughout prototype to production stages.

Qualifikationen

• Practical experience in electronics, RF, manufacturing or a similar engineering environment.
• Experience using electronic test equipment.
• Experience with soldering and/or PCB rework.
• Basic scripting or test-automation experience, preferably using Python or MATLAB.
• The ability to read basic schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with cable or wiring-harness assembly would be beneficial.
• Experience with 3D printing, CNC machining or CAD would be beneficial.

Aufgaben

• Set up and carry out RF and electronic measurements.
• Operate test and measurement equipment including network analysers, signal generators, power meters and oscilloscopes.
• Connect laboratory instruments to PCs using Ethernet, USB, GPIB and serial interfaces.
• Run and modify Python scripts for automated testing and data collection.
• Support soldering, PCB rework, prototype fault-finding and component replacement.
• Manufacture cables, RF cable assemblies and wiring harnesses.
• Assemble mechanical parts, enclosures and complete prototype units.
• Produce simple components, fixtures and test jigs using 3D printing and CNC.
