Revit Technician

Warrington

The Civil & Structural Revit Technician plays a key role in providing our design engineering services. The Revit Specialist is responsible for producing discipline-specific design and engineering data to support project deliverables. The ideal candidate will be a competent Revit technician with experience in Civil & Structural Engineering within a BIM environment. They should be capable of working within multi-disciplinary design teams in a highly regulated industry. The candidate will formalize design sketches produced by others in the team and convert 3D laser scans into workable models, reporting on coordination and clash detection.

Reports to

Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer.

Key Accountabilities

1. Set up, modify, and take ownership of Structural, Civil & Architectural Revit models.
2. Formalize design sketches from the design team.
3. Use 3D laser scans in creating Revit models.
4. Produce 2D drawings from Revit models.
5. Have structural steel detailing experience.
6. Have rebar detailing experience.
7. Assist in delivering BIM projects.
8. Develop and maintain Revit families.
9. Produce design deliverables throughout the project.
10. Contribute to design and safety reviews.
11. Ensure quality and timely delivery of documentation across all design phases.
12. Comply with safety and statutory regulations.
13. Develop cost-effective technical solutions.
14. Manage sensitive information.
15. Maintain document control.

Occupational Skills and Knowledge

• Degree in a relevant technical/engineering discipline or demonstrable experience.
• Associate membership of a discipline-specific engineering institution.

Duties and Requirements (Essential)

• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
• Knowledge of fundamentals within your engineering discipline.
• Experience with BIM Levels of Detail (LOD).
• Previous experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., Nuclear/Defence).
• Proven success in delivering design solutions.
• Good understanding of safety legislation and regulations.
• Experience working within a project environment.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Good commercial awareness.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Autodesk Recap, Vault, and Virtual Reality software like Unity.
• Knowledge of RIBA Stages of work.
• Degree in a relevant technical/engineering discipline.
• Experience managing sub-contractors.
• Full UK driving license.
