Job Type: Permanent

Location: This role is based out of our Birmingham office, on a hybrid basis.

Salary and benefits: £65,000 to £80,000 per annum plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days, and more.

The role

We’re recruiting a Review Actuary to join our Actuarial Review team within Group Reporting and Tax. You will provide professional service by applying actuarial and business knowledge to support informed decision-making aligned with our company strategy.

In this role, you will become an expert in actuarial reporting across Phoenix and assist in producing and reviewing diversified risk capital results on a SII basis using the proxy model. You will work with various teams on key projects and initiatives, especially given the significant change agenda within Phoenix. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Financial Planning team to ensure changes impacting funds are accurately reflected for strategic decisions.

What are we looking for?

• A qualified or newly qualified actuary with experience in actuarial reporting or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of SII reporting is desirable; experience with proxy models is a plus but not essential.
• Experience reporting on various product lines, including annuity, bulk annuity, unit-linked, and with-profits, is desirable.
• Proven ability to deliver quality work within tight deadlines.
• Experience working collaboratively in a team environment, supporting colleagues.
• Experience developing processes and enhancing controls.
• A keen learner with a strong appetite for change and continuous improvement.
• Strong technical and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
