Career Legal seeks a Revenue Assistant for a leading UK law firm. The role supports Revenue Controllers and Billing teams in managing working capital, client exposure, and billing processes. Key duties include credit checks, reporting, WIP management, and assisting with projects. A proactive, well-organised approach and strong written and verbal skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in accounts and billing within a law firm.
  • Ability to produce working capital reports and monitor WIP.
  • Experience running client credit checks and managing client exposure limits.

Responsibilities

  • Run credit checks for new and existing clients
  • Assist Revenue team with feedback to Partners for high risk clients
  • Review and amend client exposure limits
  • Assist Revenue Supervisor with projects
  • Process partner and fee earner changes and ensure correct matter assignment
  • Provide working capital and unpaid bills reports for Revenue Team
  • Review notes from Revenue Controllers and Collections system
  • Action write-offs and transferring of WIP
  • Monitor time recording of fee earners weekly
  • Review residual balances and aged WIP and debt by department
  • Prepare statements of account for clients
  • Produce working capital reports for client-to-office transfers
  • File billing guides and copy invoices with required approvals for auditing purposes

Our Client is one of the UK's top 100 law firms, with a strong reputation for both commercial and private client work. They have expertise in undertaking complex corporate and property transactions, as well as commercial, tax and trust matters and disputes. With a history dating back over two centuries, they have recently moved to stunning new offices.

They are now looking for a Revenue Assistant. The main responsibilities of this role is provide assistance to the

Revenue Controllers and the Billing team in support of the working capital function of the firm. The successful candidate will ideally from an Accounts role and have previously worked within a Law firm.

Responsibilities include:
  • Run credit checks for new and existing clients;
  • Assist the Revenue team in providing feedback to Partners for high risk clients;
  • Review and amend client exposure limits;
  • To assist the Revenue Supervisor with ongoing and upcoming projects
  • Processing partner and fee earner changes, ensuring all matters are assigned correctly
  • Provide working capital and unpaid bills reports for the Revenue Team;
  • Review meeting notes from Revenue Controllers and notes in the Collections system;
  • Action write offs and transferring of WIP (Fees & Disbursements);
  • Monitor time recording of fee earners on a weekly basis;
  • Regularly review residual balances and the aged WIP and debt or departments;
  • Prepare statements of account for clients;
  • Produce working capital reports to review potential Client to Office transfers;
  • Filing of billing guides and copy invoices ensuring relevant approval has been given for auditing purposes:
