Revenue Accounting Manager – Manchester, UK

Permanent, Full-time Position

We are seeking a dynamic Revenue Accounting Manager to join a global finance team based in Manchester. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in managing revenue recognition for long-term and short-term contracts across manufacturing, software, and services, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and UK GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the accounting for long-term and short-term contracts, including manufacturing, software, and service contracts with customers.
2. Review and monitor the performance of contracts, create cost and revenue forecasts, and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
3. Collaborate with project management teams, ensuring timely and accurate financial results, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and insightful analysis.
4. Lead the documentation and audit trail for project accounting, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition rules and internal control procedures.
5. Drive process improvements in revenue recognition and contribute to system and process enhancements.
6. Supervise and develop a high-performing accounting team, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.

What You’ll Bring:

1. A Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
2. At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with 5+ years in revenue recognition and long-term project accounting.
3. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS.
4. Experience working with large-scale ERP systems (Oracle Cloud and OneStream is a plus).
5. Proven project management skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global environment.
