Job summary

Sellick Partnership are working with a Local Authority in Leicestershire who are seeking an experienced Revenue Accountant to provide specialist support across revenue accounting, financial reporting and external audit.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team supporting key statutory reporting requirements and ensuring the accuracy of the Council's financial records.

Qualifications

• Local Government finance experience is preferred.
• Strong revenue accounting knowledge is required.
• Experience supporting external audits is desirable.
• Experience preparing or reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
• Involvement with Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Responding to external audit queries and supporting audit sampling.
• Completing key balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reviewing reconciliations prepared by other accountancy teams.
• Supporting the production of quarterly revenue monitoring reports.
• Leading on the Whole of Government Accounts (WGA) submission.
• Supporting year–end financial reporting activities.
