About our Opportunity

Our Dandenong South manufacturing facility currently has an exciting opportunity for a Return to Work Coordinator. Reporting to the National EHS Manager, you will work alongside our Health, Safety and Injury Management teams to ensure the effective management and sustainable return to work of individuals who have sustained an injury. You will be responsible for early reporting and intervention, promoting the provision of suitable duties, claims management and insurer management.

The role will also see you facilitate and influence the active engagement of managers in planning and implementing safety and other related programs. You will provide specialist EHS advice contributing to the development and continuous improvement of proactive safety culture across the site of approximately 400 employees.

You’ll also :

• Coordinate communication with rehabilitation providers, the insurer and team, including our on-site physiotherapy and wellbeing provider.
• Develop and maintain return-to-work plans.
• Educate managers of legislative obligations and the benefits of rehabilitating injured / ill employees.
• Assist management in building a positive rehabilitation and return to work environment that facilitates positive return to work outcomes.
• Coordinate the completion of all necessary paperwork to assist in prompt claim lodgment and early intervention.
• Maintain records under legislative requirements within our Injury Management system.
• Prepare monthly reports on current injuries and illnesses.
• Work in conjunction with the safety team to assist with incident investigation and reporting when required.

About You

We’re looking for a Coordinator who partners, coaches and inspires others to role model best practice safety initiatives and has experience within a manufacturing environment. Leveraging your ability to build positive relationships across all levels within an organisation, stakeholder management expertise and your ability to provide clear advice will be a must. A Cert IV level EHS qualification or equivalent is preferred.

You’ll also require experience and knowledge in :

• Injury Management, Return to Work, Workers Compensation or Workplace Health Safety role
• Overseeing end-to-end claims management and managing relationships with insurers
• Handling claims involving legal representation
• Current knowledge and understanding of all EHS legislative requirements and ability to interpret legislation, provide advice and enact the Act
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and reporting skills
• Solid organisation and administration experience
