SERT are working with a multi-discipline practise that specialise in the management of Social Housing throughout the UK. With multiple offices across England, they are a well respected, long standing business who are looking to grow significantly due to multiple contract wins.
Role Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Retrofit Assessor to join our sustainability team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting retrofit assessments, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and other related property surveys. This includes evaluating the condition of housing stock, identifying maintenance requirements, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The role works closely with the wider team and reports directly to the Head of Net Zero.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out property visits, either by following a pre-assigned list or attending scheduled appointments.
  • Manage appointments using diary tools such as Outlook and/or booking applications.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of property fabric and building services, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Identify and record urgent issues such as health and safety concerns, damp/mould, structural defects, or safeguarding risks.
  • Collect survey and condition data using tablet-based software.
  • Communicate effectively with office-based colleagues, clients, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth progress and coordination.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The position is well-suited to a recent graduate in a surveying or construction-related field who is looking to build professional experience, or to someone with prior experience in Retrofit Assessments.

Essential Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Building Surveying or a related discipline. Alternatively, hands-on experience within PAS2035, domestic energy assessment, or broader surveying/construction sectors.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle (car allowance and mileage reimbursement provided).
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to pass a standard DBS background check.
