Purpose

Deichmann are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Retail Supervisor to join the team in our Barnstaple store.

You will be offered a competitive hourly rate of up to £13.41 per hour + non-contractual, hourly sales commission.

At Deichmann, our Retail Supervisors play a vital role in supporting the store management team and delivering an exceptional shopping experience to our customers.

This is a part-time, permanent position, contracted for 16 hours per week. Ideal candidates will have energy, drive, and passion to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing retail environment.

You should have a positive attitude towards providing exceptional customer service, the ability to lead a team, stamina to work on a busy shop floor, and the capacity to work calmly under pressure.

Previous retail experience, ideally including supervisory roles, is preferred.

Key activities:
  1. Lead and supervise the store team in the absence of the Store Manager.
  2. Open & close the store, including cashing up and completing associated administrative duties.
  3. Offer excellent customer service and possess strong product knowledge.
  4. Lead by example, recommending and promoting complementary products with each sale.
  5. Assist management in leading the team to achieve sales targets and KPIs.
  6. Support team members as needed.
  7. Ensure the store is well merchandised, with refreshed and inviting product displays.
  8. Process stock deliveries and store transfers.
  9. Handle customer queries and complaints.
Personal characteristics:
  • Able to follow management instructions regarding additional tasks.
  • Previous supervisory experience, including cashing up and banking.
  • Self-motivated with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Capable of supervising, motivating, coaching, and working with a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willing to approach and serve all customers.
  • Driven to exceed monthly performance targets.
  • Methodical in completing daily tasks, including stock SKU management.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Flexible to work 16 hours per week any day from Monday to Sunday.

Salary/Pay: up to £13.41 per hour + non-contractual, hourly sales commission.
