Job description

The successful applicant will be expected to manage shifts, which includes taking responsibility for the post office counter as well as the store whilst on duty. Key responsibilities include:

  • Being an important part of the management team and supporting the manager in leading the team to run an efficient shop and provide a great service to our customers.
  • Taking full responsibility for running the shop in the manager's absence, ensuring that customers are looked after, deliveries are worked quickly, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, and tidy shop.
  • Opening and closing the shop, handling cash, placing orders, and developing a team of retail assistants.
  • Taking responsibility for the control of operational costs, including shrinkage and waste.

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • Resided in the UK for the past 3 years and have a legal right to work.
  • The ability to pass full security vetting and DBS checks.
  • Previous experience is preferred.

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week, with a shift pattern ranging between 06:30 and 21:30. The hourly rate is £12.50, and benefits include free parking, access to our Employee Benefits app (Perkbox), life assurance, pension contributions, and generous holiday entitlement.
