Job summary

JG Foods t/a Grape Tree Limited is seeking a Retail Store Manager for the Newport store. The role is 35 hours per week, reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, with duties centered on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining stock, and leading a small team.

You will ensure the store is well stocked, clean, and compliant with company standards, while driving promotions and achieving targets in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service, ideally with experience in food retail.

• Organised & practically minded, be able to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in
• Experience in Retail Store Supervisor/Manager, Food Retail, Supermarket, Customer Service, Convenience Store, etc.

Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of stock control including ordering goods, deliveries and banking monies.
• Be a hands-on manager.
• Operate the till in accordance with company instructions.
• Provide the highest possible standard of customer service.
• Ensure shelves are well filled, stocked and faced.
• Ensure correct pricing and stock rotation, remove items past use-by date, flag Best Before issues to management.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety throughout the store.
• Observe company rules and report breaches.
• Ensure all staff cooperate to ensure smooth store operations.

RETAIL STORE MANAGER NEWPORT– 35 HOURS PER WEEK

Established in 2012 Grape Tree currently has 212 stores in the UK

We are looking to recruit an ambitious, confident and enthusiastic Retail Store Manager who can represent our Company in our NEWPORT store. You will be reporting to the Retail Operations Manager and typically your duties will include:

ROLE:

You will provide fast, efficient, pleasant and unrivalled customer service. As a Retail Store Manager of Grape Tree, you need to ensure that the store is well stocked, clean and tidy and that customers leave the store with a lasting image to ensure they keep returning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• a) Strong understanding of stock control ie ordering goods, dealing with deliveries and banking monies
• b) You must be a hands on manager
• c) Operate the till in accordance with the company instructions
• d) Provide highest possible standard of customer service.
• e) Ensure that the shelves are well filled/stocked and faced up at all times.
• f) Ensure correct pricing of products and stock rotation including the removal from sale of any goods exceeding the ``use by`` date and advise management of any ``Best before`` issues.
• g) Ensure the maintenance of high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety throughout the store.
• h) Observe company rules at all times and report any breach of company rules witnessed.
• i) Ensuring all staff fully co-operate to ensure the smooth running of the store.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

• a) Ability to provide excellent customer service, ideally with experience in food retail.

The store trades Monday to Sunday and it is essential that the successful candidate is flexible to work within these hours
