Job description

RETAIL STORE MANAGER – 30-35 HOURS PER WEEK

Established in 2012, Grape Tree currently has 174 stores across the UK.

We are seeking an ambitious, confident, and enthusiastic Retail Store Manager to represent our company at our LEWISHAM STORE. You will report to the Retail Operations Manager. Your key duties will include:

Role:

You will provide fast, efficient, pleasant, and unrivalled customer service. As a Retail Store Manager, you must ensure the store is well-stocked, clean, and tidy, leaving customers with a positive lasting impression to encourage repeat visits.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain a strong understanding of stock control, including ordering goods, managing deliveries, and banking monies.
  2. Be a hands-on manager, actively involved in daily store operations.
  3. Operate the till in accordance with company instructions.
  4. Provide the highest possible standard of customer service.
  5. Ensure shelves are well filled, stocked, and faced at all times.
  6. Ensure correct pricing and stock rotation, including removing expired goods and reporting 'Best before' issues.
  7. Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety throughout the store.
  8. Observe company rules and report any breaches.
  9. Ensure staff cooperation to facilitate smooth store operations.
Essential Skills / Experience:
  1. Excellent customer service skills, ideally with experience in food retail.
  2. Good cash handling skills.
  3. Strong staff supervision and organizational skills.
  4. Organized, practical, and proactive attitude.
  5. Experience in roles such as Retail Store Supervisor/Manager, Food Retail, Supermarket, Customer Service, or Convenience Store is desirable.

The store operates Monday to Sunday. The successful candidate must be flexible to work within these hours. We seek someone with flair, ideas, and enthusiasm for sales, promotions, and exceeding targets.
