Retail Store Assistant

£12.21 per hour plus benefits

Reports to: Shop manager

Department: Trading

Location: Enniskillen Shop, Northern Ireland

Contract: 6 months FTC

Working hours: Part-time, 8 hours per week

Closing date: 25th May 2025, 23:55. This vacancy may close earlier if a high volume of applications is received or once a suitable candidate is found.

We’re seeking a motivated store assistant to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You’ll be acting as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK. Your shop will be a place where your community meets our people, understands our brand, and learns about the great work we do.

You’ll also be surrounded by people who are as dedicated to beating cancer as you are.

What will I be doing?

  1. Providing excellent customer and supporter service.
  2. Working as an integral part of the shop team to achieve ambitious sales and fundraising targets.
  3. Assisting with maintaining shop standards, including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance, and health and safety.
  4. Creating relationships with your local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
  5. Supporting fundraising events to meet targets.
  6. Taking keyholder responsibility as required (training provided).
  7. Performing manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.

What are you looking for?

  1. An understanding of what makes great customer service.
  2. Experience working in a busy customer service environment.
  3. The ability to manage your own workload and work independently when needed.
  4. The ability to work well in a team.
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Flexibility to work on a rota basis, balancing business needs with personal commitments.
