Job Description for Retail Shift Manager at Lidl

Salary and Contract Details: £14.65 - £15.15 per hour | 30 - 40 hour contract | AM & PM shifts | 30-35 days holiday (pro rata) | 10% in-store discount | Enhanced family leave

Your Role: As a Retail Shift Manager, you'll help maintain high standards daily. Your responsibilities include motivating your team, managing the shop floor, and ensuring smooth store operations in a fast-paced environment. This role offers leadership opportunities and a chance to prove yourself and advance your career.

What You'll Do:

  1. Motivate and support your team, learning from our Leadership and Company Principles.
  2. Solve problems swiftly and delegate tasks effectively.
  3. Create an environment where colleagues can succeed.
  4. Manage store operations and team in the absence of the Store Manager and Deputy.
  5. Oversee freshness, cash processes, inventory, and stock management.
  6. Ensure customers have a great experience during every visit.

What You'll Need:

  • Experience leading a team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and motivate others.
  • Patience and a friendly manner, with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Passion for working as part of the Store Team.
  • A proactive, encouraging approach to team development and store operations.
