Job summary

BardWood Support Services is seeking a Retail Security Officer for a well-known Southampton retail store. You will be patrolling the premises, monitoring access, responding to incidents, and assisting customers while maintaining safety and security.

The role requires a valid SIA license, a 5-year work history, and the ability to work under pressure. The position is 26 hours per week across Mondays and Tuesdays, with benefits after transfer to the client after 12 weeks.

Qualifications

• SIA Licence is required.
• 5-year checkable work/career history.
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure and stay physically fit.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling the retail store premises.
• Monitoring entry and exit points and investigating disturbances.
• Operating theft-detecting devices and calling for help in emergencies.
• Building positive customer relations and handling large crowds.

About the role

Title – Retail Security Officer

Pay Rate – £13.05

Location – Southampton, Above Bar

Shift Timings – 26hours per week, working both Mondays and Tuesdays

You will be working in a well-known retail store, which holds various stock. Officers are responsible for providing safety and security to both staff and visitors alike.

Your main responsibilities may include:

• Patrolling the Retail Store Premises.
• Investigating Disturbances, as well as monitoring the entry and exit points of the retail store.
• Confidently calling for help in emergency situations and operating theft-detecting devices.
• Effectively dealing with large crowds and building positive customer relations.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

• SIA License.
• 5-year checkable work/career history.
• Experience in a similar role, would an advantage
• Physically fit to undertake given tasks.
• Possess the ability to work under pressure.
