Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a confident Retail Security Officer to protect people, deter theft and create a safe shopping experience on the shop floor. The role emphasizes energy, professionalism and a calm presence in a dynamic retail environment.

You will work to support store management, engage with customers and colleagues, and contribute to a secure, welcoming store atmosphere. Training and progression opportunities are available as part of Mitie's comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA licence.
• A full 5-year checkable employment or education history (essential for vetting).
• A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Providing a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor.
• Delivering outstanding customer service at all times.
• Deterring theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences.
• Carrying out regular store patrols.
• Operating CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss.
• Working closely with store management teams.
• Supporting partnerships with Police and local crime networks.
• Using Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite.

About The Role

We're looking for a confident, approachable Retail Security Officer who can bring energy, professionalism and a calm presence to the shop floor. This is a role where no two days are the same as you'll be helping to protect people, prevent loss and create a safe, positive shopping experience for customers and colleagues alike..
