Kingdom Services Group are a key partner to Morrisons Supermarkets, and we have a great opportunity for a Retail Security Support Officer to join our team.

The Retail Security Officer plays a key role in maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment for customers and staff.

The officer is responsible for preventing theft, deterring criminal activity, and managing any emergency or conflict situations.

This position requires keen observational skills, quick decision-making abilities, and effective communication to handle various security-related situations.

Where: Covering various stores in Chester & Saltney.

When: We’re looking to get the right person into the team with an immediate start!

Salary: £12.21 per hour.

Hours: 0-32 hours per week, shifts as per site rota. Monday to Saturday 06:00 - 23:00pm & Sunday's 10:00am - 16:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Below is not an exhaustive list and any other reasonable and fair role relevant tasks may be added:

  • Conduct regular patrols inside and outside the retail store to monitor and secure premises.
  • Observe and report any suspicious behavior or potential security risks.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems to detect and prevent theft or vandalism.

Theft Prevention & Apprehension

  • Act as a visual deterrent to shoplifters and other criminal activity.
  • Identify and prevent theft through proactive observation and surveillance techniques.
  • Apprehend shoplifters or trespassers, following the company’s policies and local laws.

Customer and Staff Safety

  • Ensure the safety and security of customers, staff, and assets.
  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances, providing first aid or other support when required.
  • Help de-escalate conflicts or confrontations involving customers or staff.

Access Control

  • Control access points, ensuring that only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
  • Check for any unauthorized activities and respond accordingly.
  • Conduct bag or vehicle searches as per company policy when required.
  • Report and document incidents of theft, property damage, or other security breaches.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies during investigations.
  • Complete daily security logs and report suspicious activities to management.

Emergency Response

  • Act swiftly in the event of emergencies such as fires, evacuations, or medical situations.
  • Coordinate with emergency services if required, and assist in managing crowd control during evacuations.
  • Follow established procedures during critical incidents to minimize damage and harm.

Customer Service

  • Provide a visible security presence while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Assist customers with queries or concerns when needed.
  • Direct customers to the appropriate staff or service areas when necessary.

About you:

  • Professional in approach, with a balanced sense of judgement, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • A valid SIA Licence or have applied for one.
  • Own transport is required.
  • A full five-year checkable employment history.
