The Role

As a Sales Assistant, you will support your store team by driving sales performance and managing daily store operations. You will deliver exceptional customer service to optimise KPI performance.

Key Responsibilities

At Majestic Wine, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. You will be an ambassador for your store, supporting the team to deliver an outstanding shopping experience.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting your team to meet and exceed targets through KPI focus.
  • Deliver market-leading customer service to foster business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
  • Offer VIP concierge services, actively contacting customers with updates on products and tastings.
  • Share your passion for our products with customers through in-depth knowledge.
  • Take ownership of your wine knowledge, supporting your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
  • Maintain the store's internal and external appearance and organisation.
  • Participate in operational tasks such as delivering wine, merchandising, stock deliveries, and customer outreach.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to optimise store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety, and legal requirements.
  • Lead by example in Majestic’s Ways of Working and support junior team members, reporting to your Store Manager.
  • As a key holder, manage store opening and closing procedures confidently.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Excellent time management, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude with a passion for resolving problems.
  • Adaptability and resilience to meet changing business demands.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Wine knowledge is beneficial, but a passion to learn and pass level 2 WSET qualifications is essential.
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
