The Role

As a Sales Assistant, you’ll support your store team by driving sales performance and managing daily store operations. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service to optimise KPI performance.

Key Responsibilities

At Majestic Wine, our Customers are at the heart of everything we do. In this role, you’ll be an ambassador for your store, supporting the team to deliver an outstanding shopping experience for every customer.

We are looking for people who:

  • Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and support your team in meeting and exceeding targets through focusing on KPI delivery.
  • Deliver market-leading customer service to foster business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
  • Offer your customers a VIP concierge service, actively contacting them with updates on products and tastings.
  • Share your passion for products through in-depth knowledge of our range, selling the story, not just discounts.
  • Take ownership of your wine knowledge, continually learning to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
  • Maintain the physical appearance and cleanliness of your store both internally and externally.
  • Participate in operational tasks such as delivering wine, merchandising, stock deliveries, and contacting customers to drive sales.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and suggest solutions to your team.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety, and legal requirements by completing mandatory training.
  • Be an example of Majestic’s Ways of Working and support junior team members, providing feedback to your Store Manager.
  • As a key holder, understand store opening and closing procedures and operate independently when needed.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Excellent time management, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude with a passion for resolving problems.
  • Adaptability and resilience to meet changing demands.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Passion to learn more about wines, supporting your level 2 WSET qualifications.
  • Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
