Job summary

Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) is seeking an enthusiastic Sales Assistant to support our Shop Manager and a team of volunteers in a busy charity shop. You will help maintain high standards of visual merchandising and assist customers from entry to purchase.

This temporary, part-time role focuses on exceptional customer service, teamwork, and promoting Gift Aid and shop promotions. Benefits include training, a positive environment, and the chance to contribute to The Salvation Army's

Qualifications

• Customer service experience, paid or voluntary
• Friendly and positive outlook
• Willingness to train volunteers and support shop team (SATCoL)

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising throughout the shop
• Assist customers from entry to purchase
• Explain Gift Aid and other promotions to customers
• Complete all paperwork including cashing up and banking procedures
• Encourage and assist in training of volunteers
• Sort and prepare donated stock for sales
• Travel to other shops as part of a cluster from time to time
• Support the Shop Manager in best practice and Health and Safety
• Be responsible for daily running of the shop and management of volunteers in the Manager's absence
• Ensure personal behaviour reflects SATCoL values
