About the Role
In this Retail Sales Assistant role, you will support the Retail Manager in running a high-performing, customer-focused store in Canterbury, ensuring a welcoming environment to achieve key sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Retail Manager with day-to-day store operations to meet financial targets
Maintain high standards of merchandising and ensure an appealing, organised shop floor
Handle stock management: receiving, sorting, pricing, and displaying donations
Oversee shop administration tasks, including till operations
Support and promote the Gift Aid scheme to maximise revenue from donations
Adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and customers
Principal Accountabilities:
Stock & Display: Price, prepare, and maintain stock following guidelines, creating an attractive, clean shopping environment
Volunteer Management: Support, train, and motivate volunteers, fostering a positive, productive team environment
Customer Service: Provide excellent service to all visitors, representing Pilgrims Hospices with warmth and professionalism
Compliance: Follow Trading Standards and other regulations to ensure all items are compliant for sale
