Overview
The Swatch story is a revolution in the watch world. In 1983, an affordable Swiss-made plastic watch transformed the market. It became a language that spoke from the heart without words. Swatch offers a strong and expanding retail network within the world\'s largest watchmaking group, for one of the world\'s most popular brands.
Swatch is looking for a 20 hour Retail Sales Advisor to join our Edinburgh Store on a fixed-term basis until 31 January 2026, with potential to go permanent. The key purpose is to provide service to customers, promote Swatch products and meet sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Greet and serve all customers, providing friendly service and delivering a full and memorable experience.
- Be familiar with the product range, past and present, so that customers can receive detailed information as needed.
- Have good knowledge of all functions of watches and other products.
- Provide reliable information to customers in all matters relating to sales and customer service.
- Help display merchandise as directed.
- Contribute to the store reaching its monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to every customer, every time, whether by email, over the phone, or in person in the store.
Security
- Assist in controlling shrinkage by attentive action on the shop floor, merchandise handling, accident prevention and careful operation of the till and administration policies and procedures.
- Maintain/build a general awareness of products and security hotspots.
- Follow company policy and procedures for opening/closing the store.
- Maintain correct processing of all deliveries.
Cash Handling and Payment Transactions
- All transactions to be handled in a responsible and secure way.
- Till functions, cashing up, payments and general duties.
- Handling of cash, credit cards and international currency.
Care of the Store
- Ensure the store is kept clean and presentable at all times.
- Back of house and shop floor are both important.
- Health and safety awareness.
- Good visual merchandising standards.
Communication
- Adhere to company policies and regulations.
- Attend briefing sessions as directed by your line manager.
- Present and conduct yourself professionally to customers and colleagues, ensuring clear communication.
- Be familiar with international customers\' customs and culture.
Product Knowledge
- Attend regular training days.
- Take responsibility, be self-motivated and proactive, to understand all new products and apply training and instructions.
- Be able to deliver good product knowledge to customers.
Other
- Undertake all duties and responsibilities within the remit of the post under the direction of your line manager.

- Excited to learn about Swatch products and gain a technical understanding of our ranges.
Preferred
- Experience in retail and/or fashion accessories.
- Willingness to accommodate shifts, longer trading hours, and staying late for events.
- Experience dealing with international customers.
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages.
- Commercial focus with a desire to exceed KPIs.
