Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager who specialises in retail instore installation and construction to join a leading retail design production/joinery company based in the East London Essex borders. Please note this position is working full time in the office.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our small, friendly team, where you will be responsible for supporting the project management team, and managing your own projects from initial proposal through production to delivery and install.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to document project scope, deliverables, goals, risks and issues management, success measures, and estimated resources needed.
  • Ensures that projects remain in-scope and meet budgetary, scheduling, and quality requirements.
  • Create, manage, and distribute project communications (proposal workshop briefs, job installation notes and schedules, and budgets).
  • Oversee the management of the install and site calendar across project management team.
  • Work closely with the production and workshop manager for a full view of all projects in production to be able to advise priority and workload.
  • Oversee logistics for all projects for installation weekly calendars and planning for team, vehicle allocation support.
  • Communicate effectively for all levels of the business and clients.
  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project, including subcontractor monitoring.
  • Develop project control and reporting procedures and manage changes in operational plan.
  • Plan and lead status review meetings, which may include internal team members, suppliers, and customers.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager or similar position within an interiors or retail construction / joinery company
  • Experience in defining and managing project scope, timelines, profitability, and effective delivery of products or services.

Required Skills

  • Excellent project management skills including prioritization, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong grasp of current communication, project tracking, budget management technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience of with different project management frameworks.
  • Desirable to have a Project Management qualifications.
  • Strong technical understanding and ability to define and refine requirements through a project lifecycle.
  • Employs strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Willingly to mentor more junior team members and share knowledge.
  • As well as willingness to learn from production and openness to listen to the needs of the business and production line/team.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience in managing delivery of customer-facing and internally facing products or services.
  • Ability to work, often overnight to oversee installations onsite.
  • Experience working with senior level directors.
  • Prepared to travel occasionally.
  • Desirable for a Health and Safety qualification or good understanding.
  • German speaking would be preferable but not essential.
