Locations Available: SYD, MEL, BNE, or GC.

We are seeking a Retail Manager, Jetstar (JQ) for our newly expanded International business partnership with Jetstar Airways in Asia Pacific, on a fixed term 12-month contract. This role is responsible for delivering all contracted services within the region, across Japan, Australia, and New Zealand networks.

The Retail Manager will oversee JQ's In-Flight Retail Program, focusing on innovation, business improvements, profit enhancement, and customer satisfaction.

This role suits someone capable of establishing productive relationships, managing diverse stakeholder needs, and negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes.

What does a typical day look like?

We seek an experienced Retail or Operations Manager with national or regional retail program management experience. You will provide leadership across the Retail program.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ownership of Safety, Security, Quality, and Productivity metrics.
  2. Oversee performance of Jetstar teams at your designated port.
  3. Motivate and inspire team members, fostering trust and open communication.
  4. Develop strategies to increase revenue, meet quality targets, and mitigate risks.
  5. Manage relationships with suppliers and customer teams to ensure performance standards.
  6. Review and optimize business performance cycles based on forecasts and customer analysis.
  7. Ensure safe and efficient service delivery, including inventory and weight management.
  8. Manage supply chain, product development, and contracts.
  9. Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance, Food, and Aviation Safety standards.
  10. Manage On Time Performance (OTP) at your port.
  11. Investigate and report incidents related to safety, compliance, or financial risks.
  12. Support strategic initiatives and projects alongside senior management.

Success Factors:

  1. Proven success in a similar operational role.
  2. Strong B2B relationship management skills.
  3. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  4. Experience with budgeting and large P&Ls.
  5. Strategic thinking and change management abilities.
  6. Capability to develop training and oversee projects.
  7. Tertiary education in Business or Finance.
