We are looking for a Retail Manager who will support the business objectives of the Golf Operation by successfully managing golf services and membership-related areas on a daily basis.
The operational delivery across retail areas will include The Golf Academy, Celtic Manor Mall, Twenty Ten Pro Shop, and The Golf Club Pro Shop.
Key Duties
- Responsible for ensuring all equipment, tools, and supplies are available and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
- Responsible for the maintenance, security, computer systems, cleanliness, and appearance of the department(s), both front and back of house.
- Responsible for delivering the product according to set standards, exceeding customer expectations.
- Regularly review stock rotation to ensure maximum exposure for all retail lines.
- Ensure full, safe operation of all equipment and stock, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation within your working environment.
- Resolve all escalated customer complaints, communicate results to the Senior Manager.
- Maintain inventory, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues prior to closing inventory.
- Prepare and operate sale markdown periods, ensuring stock is labeled, merchandised, and replenished.
- Manage the check-in process for visiting golfers, ensuring efficiency.
- Guide staff in optimal merchandising and visual displays.
- Manage the Golf Concept system to maximize revenue.
- Oversee stock management, reordering, and stock transfers within retail areas.
- Conduct monthly stocktake, record figures, and investigate discrepancies.
- Drive retail revenue through upselling and excellent customer service.
- Create an exceptional retail and PGA experience, working with the Head of Golf and Retail.
- Develop ways to enhance service quality and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvement plans.
- Lead by example in delivering five-star service.
- Ensure staff understand and deliver high standards of hospitality and rectify sub-standard service.
- Develop and implement ideas to improve profitability.
- Coordinate with housekeeping to maintain guest areas.
- Monitor costs and manage payroll to satisfy budget constraints.
- Assist in staff scheduling for optimal efficiency.
- Support Client Services and Event Management with merchandise and retail offerings.
- Attend bi-weekly review meetings with the Head of Golf and Retail.
- Collaborate to create a cohesive retail experience across all areas.
- Ensure departmental focus on exceeding expectations and fostering loyalty.
