Job summary

Southampton City Council’s Museums, Art Gallery and Heritage Service is seeking a Commercial Activity and Retail Officer to own the retail offer across its venues. You will source stock, set pricing, organise deliveries and lead merchandising to turn our shops into desirable destinations for residents and visitors.

You will also help with income generation by responding to market trends, developing product ranges and supporting the commercial team with venue hire, events and customer activity as

Qualifications

Retail experience and customer service aptitude.
Ability to manage pricing, stock and stock deliveries.
Strong merchandising and presentation skills for shop spaces.

Responsibilities

Own and develop the Museums and Gallery retail offer.
Source stock, manage pricing, organise deliveries and lead merchandising.
Support procurement, stock control and turn shops into destinations.
Contribute to income generation by reacting to market trends and developing product ranges.
Collaborate with collections colleagues on merchandise and support venue hire, events and customer activity.
