Retail General Manager

GBP50 - GBP60,000 + Car Allowance, Bonus & Full Package

The Person

You're a bright and capable retailer with enthusiasm and potential for further growth. A willingness to learn, an entrepreneurial approach, and a broad commercial mindset are essential. You will have the freedom to make decisions regarding layout and stock management and will oversee all onsite projects, managing 99% of store operations to ensure visibility and control. Skilled in people management, sales driving, and visual merchandising, you'll create an appealing shopping environment. Your analytical skills will help identify additional sales opportunities, reduce shrinkage, and improve the store's profitability.

The Role

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role involves full responsibility for daily store operations, including:

  • Leading short, medium, and long-term store plans.
  • Setting standards for layout, store appearance, service quality, product mix, and visual merchandising.
  • Managing budgets and P&L.

In return, you'll receive support from a structured team that is present when needed but unobtrusive otherwise. Full training will be provided, and you'll be treated as a responsible adult. The compensation package is competitive, with a good bonus scheme and a healthy work-life balance. Outside of peak seasons, late nights and weekend work are rare; this is your store, and you'll be responsible for running it.
