Job description

Retail Customer Service Assistant, Dartford

We are working with a dealership specializing in agricultural, construction, and ground care machinery in Dartford.

Salary: Competitive

Working hours: 39 hours per week, basic hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm Friday. Saturdays are on a rota (8am to 1pm). Overtime is paid at time and a half after 39 hours from Monday to Friday.

Candidate profile: Retail experience is preferred, ideally in hardware stores or with strong customer service/sales background. Responsibilities include selling parts, garden machinery, and clothing to customers.

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Store Manager, you will assist with daily retail sales within the showroom, including parts, hardware, and clothing. Your goal is to deliver excellent customer service face-to-face and over the phone, handling queries related to products and services.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with trade and general public customers
  • Ability to work in a busy environment and handle pressure
  • Strong communication skills (face-to-face, email, letter, fax)
  • Experience in retail environment and showroom operations
  • Basic computer skills, email, and internet familiarity
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Sales experience in retail
  • Full driving license
  • Smart and presentable appearance
  • Motivated by sales and targets
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in handling cash, cheques, and card payments
  • Team player, capable of working independently or with others
