JOB TITLE: Retail Collection and Delivery Driver

LOCATION: Speke

REPORTING TO: Transport Manager

WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week

SALARY: £22,933.74

FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 6 MONTHS

Overall purpose of the role:

To support our Retail Stores by ensuring timely delivery and collection of goods, reviewing orders prior to delivery, loading and unloading vans, and providing excellent customer service to supporters and donors.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Work according to van operation plans, organise and plan routes within the North West.
  2. Ensure regular delivery of donated stock to shop managers, including rotated stock.
  3. Record detailed information on collections and deliveries using collection books.
  4. Attach Gift Aid sign-up leaflets to house collections and encourage donors to sign up.
  5. Post house-to-house collection sacks as per route requirements.
  6. Collect and deliver furniture donations as needed.
  7. Process all donations with management.
  8. Work independently with good initiative and as part of a team.
  9. Plan and prioritize work schedules effectively.
  10. Ensure collected and delivered items are kept in excellent condition.
  11. Maintain vehicle standards and complete safety checks monthly.

Person Specification

Physical: Comfortable with heavy lifting and manual handling.

Experience:

  • Excellent driving skills.
  • Experience in route planning and organisation.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Knowledge of health and safety in retail.

Skills:

  • Basic English and Maths skills.
  • Effective communication across multiple sites.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Enthusiasm and ability to work with teams and the public.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • IT literacy.
