Job overview

The aims of the department are to provide a high quality, customer-focused, cost-effective, and well-presented service to staff, visitors, and patients. The post holder will ensure the correct and economical use of materials and equipment.

The post holder will work with or without supervision in a busy restaurant at the stated place of work, but may be asked to work at any of the Trust’s catering outlets as needed.

Main duties of the job
  1. Setting up the counter for the day's service
  2. Checking all floats to ensure they are correct at the start of service
  3. Serving customers hot and cold meals and preparing deli sandwiches in a friendly and helpful manner
  4. Stocking shelves, fridges, and maintaining stock levels
  5. Correct storage and rotation of stock, maintaining minimum/maximum stock levels
  6. Producing barista-style coffee as required
  7. Temperature probing of sandwiches and hot food items and recording temperatures according to HACCP procedures
  8. Completing appropriate documentation to ensure legal compliance
  9. Cleaning premises and equipment to standards of cleanliness and hygiene as per schedules and policies
  10. Working on an EPOS-based till, adhering to cash handling policies
