Are you a passionate and driven sales professional looking to make a meaningful difference?

Join RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People) and play a vital role in creating a more inclusive and accessible world for people with sight loss. We're seeking a dynamic Retail Business Development Manager to join our B2B Retail team leading on selling in our accessible products and solutions into Local Authorities, Agencies and Healthcare providers.

About the Role:

As part of the Enterprises Retail B2B team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new business and managing existing relationships with local authorities, charities, agencies, and other organisations concerned with deploying accessible products to end-users, helping drive meaningful change for people with disabilities including those with sight loss.

This role combines strategic prospecting, relationship building, and consultative selling skills.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. New Business Acquisition: Proactively identify and target potential clients aligned with RNIB's target markets. Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target organisations and develop outreach strategies to reach them.
  2. Account Planning and Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive account plans, outlining clear goals, strategies, and action items. Regularly review and update account plans based on performance data and client feedback.
  3. Consultative Selling: Understand and articulate the unique value proposition of RNIB's accessible product solutions. Tailor presentations and proposals to address specific client challenges and demonstrate ROI.
  4. Lead Generation and Qualification: Generate a consistent pipeline of qualified leads through various channels, including marketing campaigns, referrals, and online resources. Nurture leads through the sales funnel, building relationships and providing relevant information.
  5. Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Accurately forecast sales revenue and maintain a robust sales pipeline. Track and report sales activities and outcomes using CRM software.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Proven track record in new business development or sales, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Strong research and prospecting skills, with the ability to identify and engage potential clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at crafting compelling pitches and proposals.
  • Ability to influence and persuade decision-makers, overcoming objections and securing buy-in.
  • Tenacious and results-oriented, with the ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to RNIB's mission of creating a more inclusive society for people with sight loss.

Desirable:

  • Experience and knowledge of accessible products.
  • Experience in selling to Local Authorities, Agencies, or similar bodies.
