Job summary

GSF Car Parts is seeking a Retail Assistant to deliver excellent customer service, support click-and-collect orders and develop strong customer relationships across our branches.

You will work in a fast-paced team, handle queries, promote promotions and ensure high standards in customer-facing areas. Experience in retail is preferred; automotive knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Proven customer service or sales/retail experience in a customer-facing role.
• Target driven and motivated to achieve results.
• Excellent customer service skills and problem-solving approach.
• Confident with IT and computer systems; knowledge of MS Office desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers for click and collect and general orders, maximising sales.
• Pick parts from the warehouse to fulfil customer orders.
• Assist sales team with product promotions and handle telephone/online queries.
• Satisfy customer needs regarding part orders, returns or queries.
• Check returns for resale, warranty or surcharge.
• Contribute to team performance and achieve sales KPIs.
• Use the E-learning portal to develop product knowledge.
• Keep customer-facing areas clean and tidy.
• Develop strong relationships with customers and understand garage needs.
• Promote a professional image and company values.

About The Role

At GSF Car Parts, the role of a Retail Assistant is all encompassing for our aim to deliver excellent Customer Service. You will play a crucial part of the team; contributing towards achieving branch and individual targets through face to face sales; servicing click and collect orders and developing sound customer relationships.

Main Duties Include

• Serve trade and retail customers for click and collect and general orders whilst maximising sales where possible.
• Pick relevant parts from the warehouse to fulfil customer orders.
• Assisting the sales team on sales of product promotions by answering telephone queries and dealing with electronic queries as and when needed.
• Fully satisfy customer needs in respect of any part orders, returns, or queries they may have.
• Check customer returns for resale, warranty or surcharge.
• Contribute to a positive team performance whilst working on personal benchmarks to optimise personal performance and work on sales of product promotions.
• Utilise the E-learning portal to develop product knowledge and improve performance.
• Ensure that the customer facing areas of the branch are kept clean and tidy.
• Develop strong working relationships with customers and understand their garage needs.
• Always promote a good image of the company by always representing our values and maintaining a professional appearance.
• Ensure that the customer facing areas of the branch are kept clean and tidy.
• Always working towards the achievement of relevant set KPI’s.

Working Hours

45 (average) hours Monday to Friday, including alternate Saturday working

About You

What you'll need to succeed:

• Proven customer service or sales/retail experience within a customer facing role.
• Target driven and motivated to achieve results.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to adopt a positive approach to customer queries, pro-actively seeking resolutions.
• Confident user of IT and computer systems.
• The ability to work well with others.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of car parts or the automotive industry would be advantageous but isn't essential.
• Knowledge of MAM, Allicat, MS Office is desirable.
