Job description

Our Restructuring & Insolvency Service team is seeking an experienced Senior Executive to join their established Manchester-based team. You will collaborate with a diverse group where personal development is prioritized. While based in Manchester, there may be opportunities to work with Insolvency Practitioners in other regions, supporting a national practice across restructuring areas through a hybrid working model.

Job Purpose

The role involves managing a portfolio of corporate insolvency engagements, primarily focusing on Administrations (ADMs) and occasionally Creditors' Voluntary Liquidations (CVLs). You will proactively progress cases alongside case managers and officeholders.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as the principal contact for delegated areas within assigned cases, handling day-to-day matters.
• Perform duties efficiently, thoroughly, and in compliance with legal, statutory, and firm procedures.
• Contribute to case progression, manage your work stream, prioritize tasks with your manager, and keep the team updated.
• Prepare statutory notices, assist with reports, and meet deadlines.
• Support the preparation of fee estimates, proposals, and creditor approval procedures.
• Assist in preparing reports for stakeholders and conduct investigation work in line with SIP2 and CDDA standards.
• Maintain receipts and payments accounts, prepare vouchers, and assist with VAT returns.
• Attend meetings, document discussions, and follow up on action points.
• Contribute to case strategy, prepare file notes, and conduct case reviews.
• Coordinate with tax teams on VAT, PAYE, and CT compliance.
• Keep case checklists and diaries updated, handle creditor queries, and assist with company record compliance.
• Support asset realization processes, liaise with agents and solicitors, and update control schedules.
• Assist with marketing when a business is for sale.

Person Specification

• Experience in corporate insolvency work.
• Proficiency in IPS and Microsoft Office.
• CPI or ACA qualification preferred.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements for Administrations and insolvent liquidations.
• Understanding of insolvency legislation and current case law.
• Ability to prepare outcome statements and maintain control schedules.
• Experience producing statutory reports in insolvency cases.
• Strong organizational, time management, and accuracy skills.
• Ability to research, identify issues, and suggest solutions.
• Desire to develop professionally and support team growth.
