Restaurant Reception Manager, £33k-£35k plus service charge and great benefits

Onsite, shifts, five days out of seven.

The Francis Hotel, one of Bath’s first Georgian buildings, was home to architect John Wood the Elder. The hotel has a rich history and has been redesigned with modern amenities, inspired by the Georgian era.

About the role:

The hotel is undergoing a multi-million pound transformation. The new restaurant will offer all-day dining, and the restaurant reception team will be the first point of contact for guests.

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, you will have the opportunity to influence the restaurant scene in Bath, leading the guest experience from booking to farewell, ensuring repeat visits.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the host team during breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts.
  • Welcome guests, manage bookings, and coordinate with the restaurant team.
  • Oversee the guest journey, assist in training the host team, and manage reservations in liaison with hotel reception.
  • Maintain knowledge of food, drinks, promotions, and offers.
  • Record guest information to enhance their experience.
  • Keep the reception/host area tidy and aligned with brand values.
  • Handle event bookings in collaboration with the restaurant manager and head chef.

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in records and schedules.
  • Knowledge of restaurant and hotel offerings, promotions, and services.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to stay calm in busy environments.
  • Comfortable handling short-notice requests from guests or staff.
