Job description

As our new Restaurant Manager, you’ll be accountable for all aspects of the department. As part of this you will:

  1. Be accountable for all aspects of the department including: sales, profit, costs, people, operation and product.
  2. Manage and lead the team confidently to deliver an extraordinary customer experience and impeccable service – you will be someone that the rest of the team will look up to.
  3. Deliver the impeccable service our customers expect, with a genuine passion for health and fitness and the range of dishes we offer as well as knowledge of products and all the different things we sell at Selfridges.
  4. Be accountable for owning and delivering department objectives including sales, stock-loss and payroll, ensuring our company values and principles remain the foundation of team behaviour and interaction with customers.
  5. Consult with customers and clients on a range of food, drink and service offerings in our restaurants.
  6. You’ll also be responsible for supporting the wider area in delivering their objectives by providing support and cover as required.

A bit about you

  1. You’ll be a natural leader who takes great pride in leading and mentoring a team to achieve great success.
  2. You’ll know restaurants inside and out, with a keen curiosity to discover and explore more about the industry to share with others.
  3. You’ll have a hands-on approach and a flexible management style where you’ll treat your department as if it were your own business.
  4. As a part of our team in restaurants, you’ll demonstrate a keen interest in delivering the world-class standards and customer experience that we are renowned for.
  5. You’ll always look to genuinely connect with customers and you’ll have a good time doing it too (there’s no fun like work after all, as Harry Gordon Selfridge once said!)
  6. You’ll be super professional, with the ability to handle tricky situations in a calm, diplomatic way.
  7. Your communication skills will be strong and effective, and you’ll display a confident understanding of restaurant operations.
  8. A positive, can-do attitude is what we love here, and you’ll always be prepared to go above and beyond for our customers.

This job is a brilliant opportunity to surround yourself by a diverse team, with experience across an array of catering and hospitality disciplines from which you can learn a great deal. It doesn’t just stop at Restaurants either - we have lots of opportunities to get involved and collaborate on projects and in communities internally, so no two days will ever be the same.
