Job summary

Bistro 1922 in Chelsea seeks a proactive General Manager to lead a new all-day dining concept blending a bistro, café and deli. You will drive guest experience, commercial performance, and culture, building a high-performing team and representing The Sloane Club’s heritage.

You will recruit, mentor, and empower staff while delivering consistent quality across food, service, and operations to create a beloved local destination.

1922 is an exciting new all-day dining concept from The Sloane Club, inspired by the Club's founding year and positioned at the heart of Chelsea's vibrant food and social scene. Combining a contemporary bistro, artisan café, and premium deli, 1922 will offer members, residents, and visitors an exceptional destination for breakfast, lunch, coffee, retail delicatessen products, and informal dining.

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and inspirational leader to shape, and establish 1922 as one of Chelsea's most admired neighbourhood destinations.

The Role

The Manager of 1922 will be the face, driving force, and operational leader of this exciting new venture. Responsible for delivering commercial success and exceptional guest experiences, the successful candidate will bring together hospitality excellence, entrepreneurial thinking, and hands‑on leadership to create a destination that reflects the values, heritage, and reputation of The Sloane Club.

• Develop initiatives that drive revenue across the bistro, café, takeaway, and deli retail offer.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure seamless execution across all areas of the operation.
• Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and service delivery.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures that support consistency and efficiency.
• Ensure all opening and closing procedures are rigorously maintained.

Brand Development

• Act as a brand ambassador for 1922 across Chelsea and the wider hospitality community.
• Work closely with marketing teams to build awareness, footfall, and customer loyalty.
• Support the development of social media, local partnerships, and promotional campaigns.
