Engagement: Casual position offering variable hours on a flexible basis

Location: The City Ground, Nottingham, NG2 5FJ

Department: Safety and Security

Reporting to: Steward Resourcing and Training Lead

About the Role:

The primary role is to provide a high level of care, comfort, and wellbeing for all persons attending the event. Turnstile Operators should present themselves in a positive, courteous, and professional manner at all times, focusing on enhancing the customer experience.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Incident Response: Monitor crowd behaviour and stadium areas for security threats, respond to incidents, coordinate with security personnel and police, and conduct safe ejections when necessary.
  2. Player Arrival: Facilitate the safe arrival and escort of players and officials, ensuring smooth access and movement within the stadium.
  3. Body Worn Video: Operate body-worn cameras correctly, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  4. Conflict Resolution: De-escalate disputes among spectators professionally.
  5. Reporting of Evidence: Support investigations with accurate reports, witness statements, and evidence, including court appearances if required.
  6. Pitch Protection: Maintain pitch security during matches, responding to breaches promptly.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work with the security team, police, medical staff, and management, participating in training and briefings.
  8. Bag Checks & Searches: Conduct thorough checks and searches at entry points in accordance with policies.
  9. Customer Service: Assist supporters, provide directions, and ensure a positive stadium experience.
  10. Compliance: Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and club policies regarding safety and security.

What are we looking for:

  • Valid SIA license
  • Willingness to apply for a DBS check
  • Experience in security, preferably in stadiums or large events
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Physical fitness for prolonged standing and patrols
  • Flexibility for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
