Role – Responder (Care Services)
Location – GCHSCP, Blair Court, 100 Borron St, Glasgow, G4 9XE
Hours and Shift Pattern – 22.75hrs (backshift)
Contract Status – 1 x permanent, 1 x temporary up to 6 months

Do you have a caring nature, a dependable attitude, and a desire to make a real difference in your community? We are looking for committed Responder Carers to join our Alarms Team at GCHSCP.

In this essential role, you will be the first point of contact for older adults using our telecare service, offering emergency assistance and reassurance when it’s needed most.

What is Telecare?
Telecare involves a range of technology-enabled devices designed to help people live safely and independently at home. These systems provide alerts and support in emergencies or when risks arise, ensuring peace of mind for users and their families.

Your role will include:
• Responding to telecare alarms across Glasgow.
• Delivering hands-on support in urgent situations, such as falls or personal care needs.
• Providing calm and compassionate reassurance during emergencies.
• Working closely with a dedicated team to ensure seamless care delivery.
• Travelling city-wide from your base at Blair Court, prioritising calls based on urgency (you will have access to our manual fleet of cars).

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
