Qualifications

Job description

Respiratory Therapist - Outpatient Pulmonary Rehab - Whittier Rehab Hospital - Bradford
Per Diem


Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate as a trusted member of the patient care team as the subject matter expert to drive patients to their goals
  • Assists in the development of exercise prescriptions and protocols and supervises exercise therapy.
  • Assess patients based on their medical history for admission into the Pulmonary Rehab
  • Manages care plans and new patient intakes
  • Provides support with oxygen administration and titration for patients requiring O2 supplementation.
  • Monitors SpO2 saturations for every patient
  • Provides education for patients on breathing mechanics and coping with their restrictive and/or obstructive pulmonary disease.
  • Assists patients in equipment understanding concepts and lifestyle modification principles.
  • Fulfill all compliance and database responsibilities related to this position
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Department leadership
Prerequisites:
  • B.S., or A.S.in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  • CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current licensure by the Division of Registration, Board of Respiratory Care, Commonwealth of MA.
  • Certification in BLS for the Healthcare provider.
  • Knowledge, experience and competency in dealing with adult rehabilitation and geriatric age group.
