Job description

Overview

Under supervision, perform work involving the delivery of direct patient care in respiratory therapy. Maintain appropriate computer records of services provided.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions):

1. Administers oxygen therapy as ordered.
2. Administers physician-prescribed respiratory treatments to patients within their scope of practice, including IPPB, nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, and chest physiotherapy.
3. Operates and maintains non-invasive monitoring systems such as pulse oximeters, transcutaneous monitors, and oxygen analyzers.
4. Performs deep endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning and tracheostomy care as per procedure.
5. Performs patient assessments to evaluate response to therapy.
6. Sets up, attaches, operates, and manages mechanical ventilators.

Qualifications

Job Specifications (Minimum Requirements):

• Knowledge of respiratory care therapeutics, oxygen therapy, and related equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High level of discretion, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Ability to present oneself professionally for effective communication.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.

Experience:

• 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred.

License/Certification:

• Certified Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS Certification.
