Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Respiratory Physiologist to join our team at Upton, Wirral. The post holder will provide specialist respiratory and sleep services and will be involved in teaching, audits, and service development.

You will perform complex investigations, supervise junior staff, and help deliver community clinics across Wirral. The role emphasizes patient care, training, and maintaining accurate records within our forward-looking

Responsibilities

Perform and interpret a wide range of clinical respiratory investigations and produce reports.
Line manage and supervise junior staff and deputise for senior management daily.
Cover clinics in the community including GP practices and diagnostic centres.
Organise and deliver respiratory and sleep services as required.
Provide education to junior staff, medical students and nurses.
Participate in audits, research and development.
Maintain accurate records of test procedures and ensure timely completion of duties.
Keep up to date with developments in cardiovascular and respiratory medicine.
Support training for assistant practitioners, students and new staff.
Contribute to training programmes and monitor learning needs.
Oversee safety of equipment and service maintenance.
Contribute to policies and service planning.
