Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Respiratory Physiologist to join our team to provide specialist respiratory and sleep services across hospital and community settings on the Wirral region.

You will perform and interpret complex results, supervise junior staff, cover GP clinics, deliver education, participate in audits and development, and maintain accurate records of tests and procedures.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of health and safety policies relating to job role
• Experience with respiratory and sleep services
• Ability to supervise junior staff and deputise for senior management
• Experience with clinical audits and reporting

Responsibilities

• Perform and be responsible for a wide range of clinical investigations and interpret highly complex results; produce factual reports.
• Line manage and clinically supervise junior staff and deputise for senior management daily.
• Cover clinics in the community including GP practices and Clatterbridge Diagnostic Centre.
• Help organise and deliver all aspects of respiratory and sleep services when required.
• Provide education to junior staff, medical students, respiratory nurses and participate in teaching days.
• Participate in clinical audits, research and development and maintain complete records of test procedures.
