Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Technical Officer to join the Respiratory Physiology Team at Arrowe Park Hospital, Ward 37, Respiratory Lab.

The post holder will provide diagnostic support, perform spirometry and FeNO, prepare sleep monitors and assist in the sleep service delivery, while aiming to complete ARTP certification within 12 months and working across Arrowe Park, Clatterbridge Diagnostic Hub and Wirral community clinics.

Qualifications

• Will provide spirometry and FeNO assessments as part of the respiratory physiology team.
• Prepare and provide sleep monitors and overnight oximetry for patients.
• Assist physiologists with the delivery of the sleep service and clinic consumables.
• Report issues of patient concern as needed.
• Evaluate, interpret and present test results per departmental policy.
• Maintain comprehensive records of procedures in the hospital system.
• Provide general administrative support for day-to-day planning and booking of clinics.

Responsibilities

• Provide all types of spirometry and FeNO assessments.
• Prepare and provide sleep monitors and overnight oximetry for patients.
• Help deliver the sleep service by gathering consumables for the clinic.
• Report issues of patient concern when identified.
• Interpret and present test results in line with policy.
• Ensure timely completion of duties and maintain records.
• Support day-to-day planning and booking of clinics.
