Job Details

Location: Great Western Hospital, Swindon

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours/week, across 7 days)

Salary: £37,338 - £44,962 per annum (NHS Band 6)

Role Overview

Responsible for own caseload, supervising team, training staff, and representing respiratory physiotherapy in multidisciplinary teams. Focus on critical care, chest treatment, and early rehabilitation, including training for on-call staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Promote respiratory physiotherapy, especially in critical care.
  • Provide advice on tracheostomy weaning, extubation, and rehab.
  • Engage with the South West Critical Care Network.
  • Supervise students and junior staff; train new staff for on-call duties.
Person Specification

Qualifications: HCPC registration, Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.

Experience: ICU/HDU, respiratory, MDT work, supervision, and training experience.

Knowledge: Effective communication, clinical reasoning, proactive in respiratory specialization.
