Job summary

The Lung Function Unit at Corbett Hospital, part of the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, is offering a permanent post in the physiologist team. The role focuses on routine lung function tests and sleep studies, mainly spirometry on adult outpatients, plus issuing home sleep study equipment.

Training is provided and competency is assessed task-by-task; no prior experience is required for the main duties. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a face-to-face interview.

Qualifications

• Essential: GCSE English, Maths and a science at grade 4 or above or equivalent such as Functional Skills Level 2
• A-level grade E or above in Maths, English and one science or NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent
• Experience in NHS or busy department is desirable

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lung function tests, mainly on adult outpatients
• Carry out sleep studies
• Perform spirometry, the main diagnostic breathing test
• Issue domiciliary sleep study equipment
• Help with the day-to-day running of the lung function service
• Complete the in-house training programme and reach the required competence levels
